Drum Repairs

Have a djembe that needs some love? Does your baby have a broken skin? Or simply needs a good crank/tune to help it sing again?

If you are in need of repairs, we have the technology – cranking machines, tools, rings and ropes — to spruce up any djembe.

Reach out with your request and upon examining your instrument we’ll give you a quote.

Here is an estimated cost breakdown:

  • Simple full-size djembe re-skin (including new skin) – $290
  • Woodwork: re-levelling and shaping the top (bearing edge), plus a coat of oil – $30-$50
  • Ring work: custom sized and shaped to your drum (up to 3 rings) –  $30/ring
  • New marine quality rope: rope for the rings (Falcon and Bowline braid) and the 20 metres of top quality 5ml vertical rope (Vulcan braid) – $70
  • Wrapping and roping the rings – $70

We do everything by hand in our workshop in Billinudgel and source only the best quality shells, skin, rings and rope to make sure your djembe reaches its potential and sounds amazing for longer. The better your djembe sounds the more inspired you will be to play!
