Chris brings with him a new ancient music full of power grace & downright funky grooves, moves & melodies!!!! Chris Berry is a weaver of worlds. Growing up in America, living in Africa for over a decade, traveling the globe and now residing in Hawaii. He has spent his life immersed in African music, culture & dance. Elders have named him a master musician & he has been honored with the title of gwenyambira (“one whose music calls the spirits”), a distinction reserved only for those who have achieved the highest fusion of the technical and the magical in Shona music. Chris has also been initiated into the Sangoma (healers) of South Africa - a highly demanding initiation process challenging him on all levels.
